Frequently asked questions

Does this automatically detect faces?

No — you select the region manually by dragging a box. Automatic face detection needs a machine learning model, which adds real weight and occasional missed detections. A manual box is more reliable and works for anything, not just faces: license plates, documents, screens, addresses.

Can I blur multiple areas in one image?

Yes — position a box, click "Add another region" to lock it in, then position the next one. Add as many as you need before applying.

What’s the difference between Pixelate and Blur?

Pixelate replaces the region with visible blocky squares — a clearer visual signal that something was intentionally redacted. Blur softens the region instead, which is less obviously a redaction but can sometimes be partially reversible with enough of the surrounding context; pixelate is the safer choice when the goal is genuinely hiding information.
